I visited this location to purchase a pair of Nike Air Foamposite shoes. I finally found a store that had them in stock and assumed I would be able to walk in and purchase the shoes I wanted without hassle. I even called before I got there to make sure they were actually in stock. Once I got to the register the young man who helped me told me that he was unable to process a my gift card unless it was a physical gift card. I had two gift cards that I received from a work sales contest. I explained to him that I have no way of converting the gift card into a physical one. He proceeded to tell me that its "because of the holidays" he then facetimed a person who I assumed was his manager to show her my electronic gift card. She then explained to him that my gift card needed to be printed. I didn't understand why I needed to print out my gift card but I agreed to do so because at this point I just wanted to make my purchase and be done with the situation. After I agreed to go print my gift card out he proceeded to tell me that I can only use ONE gift card per transaction. I challenged him this gift card policy because now I am unable to use giftcards that can ONLY be used at footlocker unless I want to purchase a item that I do not want because I can't use multiple gift cards to by the item I do want. I am unable to purchase the shoe online because it is sold out. I left and called to the footlocker stores in Eastpoint mall, Mondawmin Mall, Towson town center each store seem perplexed as to why I was told I can only use one gift card per transaction, some of the folks who answered the phone even laughed that I was having this problem, not laughing to be rude but because they couldn't understand the level of customer service I was receiving and the store's lack of interest in making at $250+ sale. I then called back to the store asking to speak with a manager and the person said I am the manager, I then explained that I was just there and that I would really like to make my purchase at that location and not drive 16 miles to the closest footlocker that had the shoe I wanted in stock. His was response was "Yea I was just helping you" then proceeded to hang up on me....
I went in browsed for a shoe of my liking found ask for it in a 10.5 to try it fitted so I bought without any problems or hassle
I promise you without a doubt throughout this entire process I did not insult a single person nor did I raise my voice at any person in that location. I was very strategic with my intentions to not cause a seen or do anything that would provoke a location not not want to help me anymore than they already did not want to. If anyone reads this from footlocker I would very much like to be contacted so I can discuss my experience further and I'm curious to know what the expectations are when I visit a footlocker and was my experience a reflection of how that store's leadership expects business to be conducted. Thanks so much for your time and reading this. Until this is resolved I can not recommend doing business with this location
Employees should be willing to work with people of every ethnic background. Horrible experience.
Always greeted me with curiosity and ask if i needed help never had issue
